Send from a different domain for each country
Merchants can now send email to shoppers in chosen countries from another sender name, address and domain.
- Before, a store sent all of its email from one domain. A brand that sells in the US and Australia from one Shopify store sent its Australian shoppers email from its US domain.
- Now Australian shoppers can get email from the Australian brand and domain that they know, and everyone else keeps the current sender. This works for the opposite case too. This builds trust and helps inbox placement.
- Brands that sell in more than one country benefit. Brands that want one sender profile on a second subdomain also benefit.
- *Senders by country:* open Configuration > Settings > Account, and click "Edit" on a sender profile. Under "Senders by country", click "Add country sender".
- *Choose who and from where:* pick one or more countries, then set the sender name, From address, domain and reply-to address. Click "Add sender", then "Save Changes".
- *Everyone else:* shoppers in other countries, and shoppers whose country we do not know, get the profile's own sender. The profile shows one line for each country and one for "Everyone else".
- *A domain for each sender:* each sender profile and each country sender can send from any verified domain of the store, not only the default one. Pick it in the domain menu beside the From address.
- *Domain Settings:* the "Used by" column shows which sender uses each domain, such as "Store (United States)". A domain that a sender uses cannot be deleted.
- *Preview by country:* in the email editor, open the arrow beside "Send preview". Under "Send to myself as", pick a country to get the email that those shoppers get.
- *Works everywhere:* flows, campaigns and previews all pick the sender by the shopper's country: their address country first, then the country that their browser shows.
